Chapter 3

This chapter I found interesting because of the mentor teacher I have. She allows ZERO disruptions in her classroom. She never actually tries to figure out why it is that they are being disruptive. I think that teachers need understand that there is USUALLY a rhyme or a reason for what students do, and eliminating the behavior does not necessarily eliminate the reason for disruption.

you are so right. Of course, then you have to figure out how to balance a little venting with still covering your content as we discussed in class. But better to do that than to cover your content but not have any of your students learn it because you didn't allow them to vent. ;-)
